QWIL recognizes the varying complexities of female identities which colour their unique experiences as women navigating the realm of leadership. We strive to harness feminism to encompass equality in a capacity that recognizes that women’s movements have historically clouded the voices of certain intersectional identities, favouring those with privilege. QWIL is committed to advocating for ALL self-identifying women; striving to amend the inequity that can exist in conversations around women’s rights. While the focal point of our mandate remains empowering women in leadership, we recognize that male engagement plays a vital role in actualizing this objective. We must galvanize the male perspective in order to drive impact through action. We encourage you to act as an ally to your female counterparts; advocating to propel women forward in all facets of society.
As we continue to build on 22 years of success, QWIL is delighted to announce that 2019 will be a year of new and exciting opportunities as our conference launches in Toronto. We will continue to connect, inspire, and educate the next generation of leaders while challenging men and women alike to engage in the conversation surrounding gender equality.
The WILPOWER Platform
WILPOWER aims to educate, inform, and empower the Queen's community on all things female through content brought to you by diverse contributors with unique perspectives. Through this platform, we will be publishing thought-provoking articles on issues which challenge the status-quo and encourage conversations on topics which are seldom discussed. This will be complemented by content built in collaboration with thought-leaders and pioneers possessing an abundance of insight grounded in lived experiences. We look forward to growing the QWIL community through inspiration and empowerment.
